About Me
INTRODUCING
Gillian Wallace
I’m a Dietitian (APD) with over 20 years of clinical experience — and I’m also a mum who understands what real life looks like.
I know what it’s like to juggle work, family, hormones, stress, and a body that doesn’t always behave the way it used to. Nothing about my approach is influencer-style, extreme, or aspirational for the sake of it. It’s practical, honest, and made for women who have a lot on their plate already.
I specialise in:
Weight changes in perimenopause and menopause
Midlife fatigue, appetite shifts, cravings, and sleep disruption
Complex gut symptoms and food intolerances
Long-term medical conditions requiring tailored nutrition
NDIS nutrition support, including PEG-fed clients
My work is evidence-based, but also shaped by the reality of busy households, forgotten lunches, night-shift rotations, and the emotional load women carry.
I focus on creating plans that fit your life — not take it over.
You won’t get restrictive rules or reels-worthy meal prep.
You’ll get clarity, support, and a plan that feels doable on a Tuesday after a long day at work and kids’ sport.
My aim is simple:
When you finish a session with me, you know exactly what to do next — and you feel lighter, clearer, and more in control.

Whats involved in a dietitian appointment?
Step 1:
We talk. Properly. I get to know what’s going on with your body, hormones, routine, and life. No judgement and no pressure — just understanding.
STEP 2:
You get a clear plan. I take everything we’ve covered and build a plan that actually works for your world — work, kids, stress, appetite, all of it.
STEP 3:
We keep tweaking until it feels right. Reviews are where we refine things, so you’re not left guessing. You’ll always know the next step. In between appointments we can also chat via email or texts for continues support and accountability.
Frequently asked questions
Q1: Do you create meal plans?
Yes. Meal plans can be included as part of your appointment if they’re helpful for you. Some clients love them, others prefer flexible structure — we’ll tailor it to what you need.
Q2: How often will I need appointments?
It depends on the level of support you want. Some clients prefer weekly or fortnightly reviews at the start, then move to monthly once they feel more confident. There’s no pressure — we decide together based on progress and goals.
Q3: Do I need to bring anything to the initial appointment?
No. I’ll send you a short client form before your appointment so I can understand your background. Just come as you are.
Q4: Can I get a Medicare or Private Health rebate?
Medicare: To be eligible, you’ll need a current Chronic Disease Management Plan or an Eating Disorder Management Plan from your GP. If you have one, a rebate will apply to your sessions.
Private Health: Coverage varies depending on your fund and level of insurance. You can check with your provider. After each session, you’ll receive a paid invoice that you can use to claim.
Q5: Do you see NDIS clients?
Yes. I support self-managed and plan-managed participants. I can provide reports, meal plans, reviews, and capacity-building sessions.
Q6: Do you offer telehealth?
Yes — all appointments can be done via telehealth, phone, or a mix. Flexible and easy.
Q7: Do you work with menopause and perimenopause?
Yes. This is a core part of my practice — weight changes, fatigue, cravings, and gut symptoms included.
